Revoltech Dark Knight Figure!?

I’m surprised no one mentioned this on the interwebz….At the San Diego Comic Con 2008 last month, the Organics booth had two prototypes of Batman in revoltech form. The label says it was from the Dark Knight movie and from the looks of the armor, it is. I’m pretty sure Kaiyodo and Organics will release some information soon about it!

Comic Con 2008 Review!

Another Comic Con has come and gone! It was tiresome, awesome and just down right pungent! This years experience was a lot better in terms of crowd control and the organization of the convention. Unlike last year, the aisles seemed to have less traffic. This maybe due to the Con only letting in pre-reg attendees only. I definitely hope this trend continues because this will help me avoid eating farts and bathing in cheese like B.O.

The schwag this year was a bit disappointing as I walked away with way less than I expected. My guess of cause is due to the internet and it’s ability to leak information before you even arrive at the convention floor. The previous years, all my buying was based on my nerd impulse. Within the last couple years, I have found myself researching and prepping what I wanted to buy beforehand. Thus making the hole in my wallet smaller. By being aware of the product that’s going to be there, you takes away the surprise element of it all.

The booths were rad and ridiculous this year from Cast GreySkull to the NightOwl’s ship from the upcoming Watchmen movie. My favorite was seeing the Ghostbusters game finally in action. I heard that it’s suppose to be a sequel to the previous two existing films. What’s even better is the original cast is back voicing the characters with the exception of Rick Moranis. “We’ll always have Honey I Shrunk the Kids…..”

The costumes were great. Nothing that was ridiculously horrible or bad in my opinion. It seems everyone has started upping the bar when it comes to American cosplaying. I wish I would’ve taken more pictures though….

All in all, I had an amazing time meeting new people and making new friends. The parties were crazy, leaving me hungover each night we went out. Comic con is truly the nerd’s Mardi Gras! Where you can buy your comics and toys during the day and get blitzed crazy at night! What more can you ask for? Being surrounded by people of common interest and toys….PE•TEW! I look forward to next years frenzy and the fun that it may bring!

I Have Survived Comic Con 2008!

Just got back from this years San Diego Comic Con and I am completely wiped out! I have managed to survive another year of extreme nerdation and heavy alcohol consumption. Made a lot of new comrades this year but bought fewer things. I’ll post a full review in the next couple of days while I try to recooperate from this weekend. Here’s a few quick new words to add to your vocabulary that was developed at Comic Con this year:

  1. EXPENSO!: A fake guido way of saying expensive in your most horrible Italian accent. Yelled when you see something at a booth thats way to expensive.
  2. PE•TEW: Onomatopoeia for finger laser ray guns. Can defend yourself from muggers trying to steal your Star Wars toy.
  3. Master, Hunter, Attack Dog: Chain of hierarchy command of good friends with a mission. New Russel Crowe movie.
