One Piece Restaurant!-Ginza, Tokyo

On my last trip to Japan, I had a chance to check out the limited pop-up of the One Piece restaurant based on the popular Japanese manga by Eichiro Oda. I got wind of it from a past Topless Robot link and being a HUGE fan of One Piece decided to make it a destination to go when I was there. It was actually kind of hard to get there and the process to go was very typical “Japanese” involving kiosk, reservations and limited amount of seating. But you bite your lip and suck it up since this was a One Piece event!

To eat at the One Piece restaurant you had to book reservations in advance. Like all special Japanese events seating was limited. Apologies in the advanced all pictures were shot on my Iphone.

Dining area:

Sogeking!

It seems like they were raffling off this giant-sized chopper.

I forgot whether or not they served beer. Either way the taps were awesome!

Stuff on the menu:

A mugiwara (strawhat) omlette!

During the time the I was there, Luffy and the gang would make brief interactive voice appearances to talk to the patrons. Chopper voice would later come out to play paper-rock-scissor with the guest and the winner got a prize.

This is what I feasted on:

Going Merry parfait- ice cream with a big piece of toast and blue jello.

All Blue drink- it was some soda concoction with blue jello.

Chicken leg- with the Mugiwara pirate symbol branded on it.

Boba ice tea- the boba was suppose to imitate the rumble balls.

Rumble balls-takoyaki

During the time there, everyone had the opportunity to walk around and take pictures. All in all it was pretty fun, too bad like all things in Japan it was only there for a limited time. By the time of this posting the restaurant is probably gone now. It’s sad that these kind of events come and go so quickly, especially since being overseas your timing has to be just right. Sigh* Thus is the way of pop-ups I suppose.
