Before Shingo at HD and me started working on his Lucky Star banner, I was in the process of finishing a fan art piece for him. I was finally able to finish a couple days ago. Don’t know if this really counts as fan art, because we at CM! are the actually people to draw Demo-tan…

First, I sketched out a rough on paper. This helped me with the direction and mainly for working out the pose of Demo. I was looking at some Puyo Puyo art the other day, and thought this would be a cool style for Demo. Made a mistake by not finishing the drawing. This posed a problem later on.

Went into Illustrator for clean up, since I wanted that streamlined/graphical look. As you can see from the feet, I had a problem working out the feet. Plus, wanted to change up the design a bit. Originally Demo was barefoot while wearing her geta sandals. I thought it would be cool to give her socks. After a bit of frustration, I moved the file into Flash and finished up the cleaning there.

Done with clean-up. After that, I threw Demo into Photoshop for coloring. While coloring, I noticed the design was a bit plain, so she returned back to Flash where a obi was designed for her.

The finished product! Added an HD logo and messed with the colors a bit. Done!
