Devastator Then and Now

Gizmodo posted an image of our ever loving Contructicon Devastator and comparing him to the soon to be released Bay-tastic movie Revenge of the Fallen version. I personally like the G1 version better, but thats just me. What about you guys?

U.S. Street Fighter IV in the Wild!!!!???

Forget about the sasquatch hoax, what I bring to you today is the real thing! Street Fighter IV in the wild!!!

I caught a article over at Kotaku the other day regarding possibly the first Street Fighter IV machine in the US. Located in Walnut, California, a couple buddies and I went to go check it out after a run to Frank & Sons since we were in the area.

Located in a strip mall across from Mt. SAC, Super Arcade looked like your average runned down arcade. With Astro City cabinets all over the place. A small crowd was surrounding the Tekken 6 and Street Fighter IV machines. Seemed like there was reigning undefeated winner that day, as we watched him take out each challenger with the every hair fashionable Guile.

The Crowd

Here’s a video of the game in action:

なんだこれ!Stop-motion Plamo

The other night while having our weekly meeting Kyohei introduced me to these stop-motion shorts of plamos or plastic models. Going by the moniker Plamoo, these little stop-motion segments are pretty awesome. Here’s a couple of them to give you a taste of the crack I’ve been smoking:

A/X 2008

Ugh, nerd season is upon us. The most financial draining month of the year. Starting with Anime Expo and bookending it with Comic-con, I look forward and dread both. Is anyone out there going and what are your impressions? Has anyone heard of a anime blogger meet-up?

Takehito Harada @ A/X 2008!

Here some amazing news! The-O Network has an interesting tidbit of news for all you Anime Expo goers. Takehito Harada, famed character designer of Disgaea and a plethora of NIS games will be a guest at the convention. Not sponsored by SPJA, Harada will make an appearance on behalf of NIS. It seems he’ll be here for the promotion of the new Disgaea port to the DS.

So what this all truly means, is that you’ll be catching me in line waiting for my Pleinair sketch!

Thanks to The-O for the Pleinair typo!

Eye-up Yoko and Kamina

I was over at HD and saw these awesome figures that are ready for preorder at Amiami. Great if you live in Japan, bad if you live elsewhere. Eye-up is releasing figures of Kamina and Yoko from Gurren Lagann. Kamina comes with a removable cape and glasses while Yoko it partnered with a optionable Buta. Both will run you about 8,190円. Kamina is suppose to drop around August, while Yoko is expected in September.

Nice! Now it’s a choice to choose between Yoko and Kamina…..Which one would you get?

President Aria Mug by Cospa

Thought this was cute. The infamous “x” is even attached on the other side. Cospa is responsible for releasing the mug and will go for 840円. Poi poi!

Field Trip Day-NSFW But Funny as Hell!

A couple of buddies of mine made a short over a Titmouse Inc. for their 5-second short day. From what I was told, the studio gave the artist and animators an entire working day (Valentine’s Day) to work on their own creative projects which had a time limit of 5 seconds. This short is done by Matt Taylor, Jeremy Polgar and our very own Junpei Takayama. Awesome job guys!
